" Will likely get my FCHH boxcar finished up next, basically just a stain / paint job.
After that I will get back to  the Tanque Charuto build.
I will admit I am enjoying Si trials and tribulation 's on his build."

Hi Ken

Trials & tribulations indeed !

Now I know what the 1:1 builder of "Tanque Charuto" must have gone through. ;)

Or ...

... did he just get 2 clapped-out ol' cement-mixer barrels ? L:

Good guess on that by the way Ken.

It does look possible.

I agree with Doug, your Rotary looks pretty darn fierce from the front ! :w:

Snow WATCH OUT ! !   :2t:

That's a pretty MAD story about the clearance for the Rotary on that bridge being too small !

I guess using the check-rails to run on, is as practical a solution as one could come up with !!

" Years ago I walked out to Payne Bluff, quite a view when you get there.
You can still get through were the rock cuts were made for the trestle footing's.
No place to step back and admire your handy work.
Even the rock walls are still in place after 123 years.
You have to admire the craftsmen who built that section of line."

Couldn't agree more on the "craftsmen" who built that section of line.

They HAD to be good !

One mistake from them ... & over-the-edge I guess ... would be their reward ! :w:

Makes you do a good job I figure !

Will locate photo of Payne Bluff taken from the bottom of

the valley and post it. In O scale the railway would be 14 to

16 actual Feet above my eye level. My place is not high

enough, short of building it in the stair well

:bang::bang::bang:.

Hi Ken, will have to agree,
I found some pics of Payne Bluff  all the rock retaining ways are still there, mostly overgrown now, some bridges half standing,
just amazing what they did to get a railroad up into the mountains.

Talk about abandoned,
I have being watching a doco series on Abandoned the eperside Friday was on the fishing villages Newfoundland,
so many just left to to beyond repair such a waste , all to do with deep sea fishing.

I might be able to get some cutting done this afternoon, sun is out.

That would be a hoot for a diorama.
On that "Tanque Charuto" it might be fun to paint it silver and create a company name which would have the reporting marks UFO.

I discovered yet another "Tanque Charuto" UNIDENTIFIED proto-photo on the 'ternet !

Tanque Charuto, New Mexico, 1947   ?   :shades:

L:

The tank IS OUT THERE ! ...

... all overgrown, covered-up with weeds & silver-paint with U.F.O. decals worn off ! ...

... at the last known reporting.

???

If you are modelling in HO and can get hold of the cosmic 'Busch' realistic lineside details ... ;)

... you could  have your very own R.T.R 'X-Files' investigation on your layout !

It's obviously just a prototype of one of those '70s French hover-trains ! :brill:

:shades:

OK

So Jose want's me to build the scene, Forrest want's a

UFO tank car, and Si want's UFO's in the scene, where will

the madness stop:bang::bang::bang:..

Enlarging the latest Tanque Charuto photo from Si, you can

make out the lettering for PERUSaPIRAPORA and the tank car

#400, definitly not taken in New Mexico. Best guess is that

the photo was taken at Gato Preto Brazil, which held the

shops for the line.

Taking a break from my Rotary, before I get back to adding

lighting and power for the blade, should be a lot easier

then what has been done so far.:time::time::time:

" Taking a break from bashing rolling stock,
decided to build 3 water tanks, from Argentina, Cuba and Peru
Stay tuned for photo's :mex::mex::mex: "

Hi Ken

Looks like you've got all the big hats out on those new South American water tanks. ;)

I hope you're still going to have the oDd moment or two, to tinker with "Tanque Charuto" though. ???

As a possible part of my own "Tanque Charuto" efforts ...

... or more likely 'Tanque Cigarillo' in this case ! ;)

My 'long suffering' R137 tank got it's cut-line re-taped & chopped on both ends ... At last !!

OUCH ! ... Just look at the WARP on that right-hand end ! ... It IS bloomin' tapered already.

My R.& D. Dept. tapered LEGO tank ends, are still in the 'shop approval' stage at present. :P

:mex:

Have not forgotten the Tanque Charuto tank car.

With the photo's you have come across,
needed to take a step back as my model was coming out far to neat? to represent the car in it's service condition.

Photo's will follow on it some time soon.
