I've been working with Bob Heil since August 2015, collecting data so GGD could make the 1956 version of Seaboard Air Line's Silver Meteor.  GGD just made this announcement in their monthly newsletter:

GGD Silver Meteor Design to begin this quarter. Production in late 2017 planned. It's a GO!!!

In light of this latest announcement I thought I'd post a few photos of what these cars will look like.  These cars will be made in aluminum.

The 1st car is a Budd Baggage/Dormitory car:

The 2nd is the Budd 52-seat Coach:

3rd is a Budd Diner:

4th is a Budd 10-6 Sleeper:

5th is the much sought after Pullman Sun-Lounge car:

The final car is a Budd Observation/Tavern/Lounge car:

PRR and RF&P also had copies of the 52-seat coach (PRR & RF&P) and the 10-6 Sleeper (PRR) and GGD will be making those as well.

It's not an inexpensive set ($1750!!!) but it's something I've always dreamed of having and if GGD holds to their standards of quality it should be a terrific 6-car train.

There's a few errors in their "flyer" on this, it's not an ALL Budd train as advertised (because of the Pullman Sun-Lounge) and the coach is a 52-seat vice 60-seat.

They are also showing a SAL E8 up for sale for those interested.

Here's GGDs website:

BobC, they make both 2-rail and 3-rail, I don't think they do P48.
