Some interesting figures there.

They hovered around the 600,000 mark for a few years,
and last year almost doubled to over 1,000,000

People need to have a hobby,
and it shows the interest in model railroading,
and the Forum is strong and growing.

:2t:  :2t:  :2t:

I think Nice Guy Eddie likes to have loooong lunches,
and why not.

Maybe we should start a Go Fund Me page,
so he can get the latest version of an Abacus.

:)

Hi Peter

Thanks for your funding suggestion !

I managed to find the $0.99c for a new pocket calculator OK.

L:

I'm still working on the other $99.01c though.

For :-

Blown-up computer power supply

Printer ink & paper

Optical discs

Memory cards

Replacement cables

Electricity

Batteries

Internet access account

Site hosting

Equipment depreciation

Technology modernization

Can of baked beans

Valium(TM)

etc.  etc.  etc.

:us:

The new pocket calculator is an upgraded model.

It has a newfangled LCD screen unlike my old LED model.

So I'm paying out way less on batteries than before.

:!:

Freerails.com stats. for the past few Octobers.

Number of Page views :-

   481,438   October   2016

   571,806   October   2017

   660,440   October   2018

   576,748   October   2019

   932,737   October   2020

1,071,748   October   2021

Good figures for October and steadily increasing.

:2t:  :2t:  :2t:

I have to agree with you Eddie,
the LED display calculator is better than the new types,
and they can be seen in the dark.

As for the $99.01 required for for the other items,
that's all accepted as required for running a business,
but I'm puzzled at the can of baked beans.

 :old dude:    :bg:

Think I'm missing something here.

.......Peter.

From 'Your Dictionary .com'

'The definition of business is an occupation or trade
and the purchase and sale of products or services
to make a profit'

(The term 'business' can be applied to non-profit as well)

" I'm puzzled at the can of baked beans "

They're a fairly universal food source for us humans.
Not recommended by NASA for astronauts though !

The problem is well documented in
Mel Brooks 'Blazing Saddles' !

November 2021 Freerails stats.

This months stats. have been 'adjusted',
due to lack of service provision, from the 25th,
to allow 'proper' comparison to previous months.

The total 'recorded' Page Views for November,
have been DIVIDED (838,032) by 24
then MULTIPLIED by 30

Giving us an 'adjusted' figure of -

1,047,540   Page Views

Eddie,

Those are stats to be proud of !

I think this is the right place...

I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you,
and each and every one of the Forum administrators, moderators, and other people,
who work behind the scenes to deliver to me, and to so many other viewers,
this truly great resource.

Not only a resource, but to me, more importantly, a refuge.

A resource and refuge that I sometimes take for granted,
until I stop to think about the huge amount of work that is behind
what I am viewing so effortlessly from my desk at home.

For me, and in my gut I know I am not alone, http://www.freerails.com
is truly a most welcome refuge in the face of all that is unsettling, disturbing,
and too-often downright crazy, in our shared whole world wide environment.

Eddie, you and the folks who work with you, are truly the epitomes of "Nice Guys".
Our little planet desperately needs so many more Nice Guys of all sorts right now...

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

To all reading this, please, just: Be Nice !
