...may your tracks be parallel and the trains on time.

This statement, Sir, is heresy.

Jose.

Good sir, do you mean those wonderful chocolate products from Hershey, PA or the scratchy clothing one wears, when suggesting something that might not be correct?

I am negative about trains generally

I do like the scenery and buildings though

Jose,  I would send the candy but I ate it all, not really just one of the few things I don't share.  Eddie, did you ever think about building/modeling an abandoned railroad?  Think about it, you don't have to have it in gauge, you don't have to wire it, but you could build a town, something you really like to do.     Some years ago I built a small module for Gary Kohler, when he had the Light Iron Digest.  I had a piece of track going diagonally in high weeds and grasses, with a turnout, going into a run down small engine shed, inside was the remains of a small four wheel switcher and outside a flat car with a tree coming through the deck.  All of the kits that I wrote reviews for were re-cycled onto the module.  Just a thought.  Anyway, wishing you all the best, time to retire for the night.Steve

The Maumee railroad is the perfect prototype for the sloppy modeler. Just check the youtube videos. NOTHING is flat, straight or level. Locos are rejects from the junkyard. And who needs a timetable anyway?.
Jose.

I do find the phenomena of "Your choice is different from my choice therefore your choice has no worth" to be an interesting thing.
The first MR I bought in 1980s had an article on the HOn30 Carabasset and Dead River based on 2 footers in Maine.
That started to get me hooked on quirky gauges.
After a bit I thought, well, why not do the same thing with O on HO track since I have more HO than N?
A little bit later I learned On30 was a thing.
I did bash and scratch some things back in those days but they are long gone.
For the HOn30 my favorite was a loco with an RS1325 inspired body on an Atlas E7 mechanism. It even had opening cab doors but on cab sides instead of ends. My body won't build that kind of stuff these days!

And, yes, I do build odd or quirky shortys.
But which is quirkier?
Mine or San Francisco's Hetch-hetchy?
Mine
Or theirs? http://www.northeast.railfan.net/images/hhrr2270.jpg

Just a remark about MR.
Just went through my back issues of MR dating from the early 1950's ( bought them 1962 as a kid from Kalmbach, spent all my pocket money and got some backing from dad. Was a complicated issue then, and the exchange rate was 1US$=4.20DM )
These issues covered 0n2 1/2 or 0n30, both terms were used , they featured Jack Alexanders 2-footers in H0, showing a loco that was custom-built for him by Troxel Brothers in 1948 and running off 6volts- the standard operating voltage for H0 these times. It was by these articles I learned that there was a model railroad world beyond standard gauge, and more than D&RGW 3'.
Just my 2cts.

I suppose the good thing about negativity is that it applies to one rail while positivity applies to the other. Without both, the train don't run! :brill: Unless it's R/C of course!;)
