I have seen that one before but I agree that it’s quite amazing. Kind of like an abandoned railroad in a fairy tale land.
That said, I find abandoned railroads and roads to be some of the saddest sights to be had. So much time, effort, money and probably pain and suffering went into the building of almost any railroad, just to have it turn out like this.

Railroads are an investment, and usually a gamble.  Most of the time you lose and the tracks end up being abandoned, but sometimes the tracks last until the present day.  I wonder though just where that photo was taken?
