Hello and welcome to the newest forum in Freerails.

I'm really glad Dave asked me to be the moderator for Micro Layouts, Minis, Switching and Pizzas. I'll try my best to make it interesting and fun.

The first order of business will be to figure out what goes in here. The answer is simple... small stuff.

No need for size limits or rules... If you think it's small, post it here. A layout, a track plan, something you've found on the internet or just an idea. Any scale is fine.

Many of us don't have a room or even a part of a room for a permanent layout so a small, often portable, layout is just the thing. Some folks are just starting out and a small layout provides a good training ground and offers quick results. Others just want to try something different without investing a lot of time or money.

I'll offer up some of my past and present projects to get things started.

Bob

Here are two pictures of my Center Line layout that appeared in Carl Arendt’s May 2006 issue of the Small Layout Scrapbook.

I did this for last year's Labor Day Challange.

Cool Treb!

That's one of my favorites.

If I remember correctly most of the cars and locos were scratch built and kit bashed too!

I also want to point out the great job you did with the base. :thumb::thumb:

Great work!

Now you have got me thinking maybe a small layout for my study ( den ) so as to have it situated beside the computer. Need to think about scale maybe HO as I have some. Space would be say 2 feet x 4 feet now for cont. run thats going to be tight.

Something else to think about.
