To give me the space to use these I'm going to a bigger scale, Probably 10mm scale on 32mm track, representing 3ft,  though half inch on one inch gauge is another possibility.

Tebee,  I have recently built RC engines using your Gn15 products (see Geneseo Rwy in Narrow Gauge Forum).  Love them....thanks.
While the 18650s will not fit there well, they will definitively fit in 10mm.  Picture of one of my critters built to run on 32mm O scale track.  7/8th scale RC with DelTang components and a Northwest Shortline Magic Carpet Drive.  Awesomely smooth and slow speed runner.

Very nice!  I've got a few HO Plymouths; wonder if I can build something like yours in 1/35 scale?

Certainly.  I have built a few in Gn15 (HO mechanisms) and Gnine (N scale mechanisms).I find the older Bachmann GE 44 Ton engine mechanisms great.  They are individually powered trucks and run fine.  Small enough to fit 1/35th for sure.  Mine have been made from balsa and card stock and are all RC with DelTang.  Picture is of one powered by GE 44 Ton.

Looking great!  I was planning on replacing the motor in one of the Plymouths with one of those micro motors since the Plymouth runs kinda rough.  Beside it would free up more space for the receiver and battery.

So many projects, so little time.
