Hi,
There is a bit of a problem translating trans-atlantic English, I do not wish to offend but I am looking for knobs, more specifically, knobs for handrails in HO.
Plastic handrails are the bane of my life, they are flimsy and protrude, modern close fitting packaging seems designed to snap them before you even open the box.
I cannot use 1:76 knobs, they are overscale anyway, so I am searching for a source of good quality HO Scale turned knobs.

Tim

My Precision Scale catalog is 1/48 scale (our O scale) but I'll bet they make them in 1/87 also. They are called "handrail stanchions" and they have a page and a half of various sizes and types in my catalog which is 469 pages. Since HO is far more popular than O in this country, if you know the dimensions that your looking for--and I'm sure that you do-- they must have something that will work

Their phone number is 406-542-3109, and are great people to deal with, if you feel that it's worth an international call.

I agree with Herb, if you can call them then you will get the info you need. I believe they have a $20 USD minimum order but when I have ordered directly from them, I can call on Tuesday with my list (the lady on the line can tell you what's in stock) and debit card # and the box usually arrives on Friday or Saturday. The local "train shop" may take several months for an order. Try them, they are helpful and the parts are superb.

Hi,

Is this what you are looking for?  This page is from the Precision Scale Co. - HO Catalog.

How many and what size do you need?  They come in Brass and Plastic as noted on the catalog page or only Brass if not listed as both Brass and Plastic..

I would think someone in the UK would sell these?

Hi Tim

Alan Gibson in the U.K.

Do all kinds of lil' stuff like that.

Their catalogue which you can download has all the sizes.

Might be something in there that would work.
