I finally managed to get Windows Movie Maker for my new desktop (been running on a laptop for too long, needed an upgrade). And my first project was to take videos I took during Railroad Days 2017 at the Historic Prairie Village and turn it into a decen Youtube video. This is my first time video tapping steam operations and it was a real joy to put together.
It's an odd little line that runs in a large loop about 3/4ths of a mile in diameter Within the loop is an assortment of historic buildings from the region and several fields of wheat and corn that is harvested by antique equipment during the Steam Jamboree in late August.
I'd eventually like to make three more videos. One with a focus on the locomotives stored at the museum, another of the historic buildings, and one dedicated to old farm equipment. All I need is a better microphone and a wind sock because the wind never quits on the prairie!
Please enjoy the video and don't forget to look up the prairie village website: prairievillage.org
