Well, I'll buy in to the action!  I have actually been working on stuff and haven't had the time to take some pictures, but more to come shortly.  The Bodie Lumber Company caboose progresses.  Maybe for the new year I'll hire me a Wolfie!

Here are a few quick cell phone snaps of my latest project.

For the last few years there has been an ugly leash tying this 4 wheel LGB flat car to the dining car,
where a giant plastic box holding some AAs blocked the aisle. It worked, but was calling out for some fixing.

This year I finally cut the cord and moved the batteries to the flat. This meant hiding the battery box, so it lost its lid, hinges and latch moldings. I then covered it with some scrap pine, laser cut some masking tape stencils, gave a quick spritz of flat black spray paint, and finished with a couple of weak IA washes. The final crate measures approximately 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 x 3/4 in.

As you can see, we ran a mixed train today, with Max (the Grinch's dog) enjoying the open gondola, followed by the refurbed flat.

Just need a 1:35 tubby chap, with a long white beard !
