For many reasons, the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway looks like the perfect narrow gauge subject to model. I just love the gritty urban look and then there are beautiful mountains too. Check it out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgD-onmSkyM

Yep, the DHR is quite the little 2 footer! Also, Backwoods Miniatures and someone else make kits for the little tank locos. If you model this, you may spend more money & time making the hundreds of folks who ride the train! And to those who say "tight turns ain't proto-type", they need to check the DHR out. I love the narrow streets in the villages where the train "shares" the right of way. Wonderful!!

Man, the clearances there are amazing. I would imagine a few people over the years have walked out into the path of one of these trains, or just walked right into th side of one passing in front of the door.

A friend of mine who'd been to there and Aghanistan before that said both were tied as, "The most gag-inducing places on Earth".
