Just when I think I've heard of it all...
Thanks for the info. Great model of something I'd never heard before!

Thank you Lee. I like unusual rail cars.

Thanks SI.
It looks black, but it might be dirty?
It also has different trucks.
They look like the ones they ran on some refrigerator cars.
The round roof cars that used ice.

I said I wanted to add scale ladders, brake wheel, open grid end platforms, air hose and correct trucks.
I need to weather it a bit to blend in where I removed the old ladders.
Thanks for looking.

Hi Bobby

Nice job on the extra details. :thumb:

Strange about the colours in the photo ^^ of No.905918 L:

The SOUTHERN lettering looks really clean compared to the hopper & locos.

I did wonder if some of the 'reds' night have faded out of an old colour-slide ...

... but the roof of the building behind, looks a very tile-red kinda colour.

A mystery ? ???

They had the cleaners out on this one, just before the photographer arrived !  ;)

Nice example of 'light weathering'.

Could this be a 'builders photo' I wonder ?

There looks to be some 'strange marks' or a touch of re-painting, under the main-number & around the far ladder. ???

The coupler-pocket looks oDdly white/cream as well.

:)

Si.

It is a mystery.
The end southern is dirty but the side southern is clean.
The car must have been behind a engine that was running very rich. Perhaps a early GE. I'm glad you like the upgrades.
