Helmut,
The surviving Nevada Northern steam locomotives were all built 1900-1910.  These are #40  4-6-0, #93 2-8-0 and #81 2-8-0.

Steven,
Thx, looks like they were not built with piston valves from the pics I checked.

Nice pics, always cool to see more steam engines still kicking!

You might look at the B & O 0-4-0, built about 1912.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Joe_(Baltimore_and_Ohio_locomotive)

Wikipedia has a number of locomotives in that time frame. The B & O Page has several:

Wouldn't you know it, I got the ad from Trainworld today and they have a 4-4-0 Richmond (the one that Si posted, the Southern) on sale. More than I wanted to spend right now for 'testing' myself out, but I might spring for it.

Nathan,
Thx and yes I have been looking at switchers too. Mostly Bachmann 0-6-0 saddle tank and side tank switchers. I am trying to determine which would give me the most room inside for BPRC.

" I have been looking at switchers too "

Hi Helmut

OUCH ! ... The NEW 'Trainworld' catalogue just in huh ? L:

Now 'Old Betsy' is what I'd call a must have Turn Of The Century switcher !

Photographed at Scio, Oregon in 1904 on the 'Oregon & California Railroad'.

You might need an extra-powerful battery for that funkster headlight ! :!:

Did you manage to sneak out & buy those switches yet ? ;)

:old dude:

Si.

Si,
That is pretty cool. I bet Woodie has one of those already bashed up and running on his RR! I think 2 batteries are needed for that headlight though!

No, this week is mostly consumed with prep for the youngest daughters 1sr Birthday party on Sunday. Ugh. My list of chores is a page long!

But I have been looking for appropriate locos, but still need more of my G scale stuff to sell as well. Track and switches are coming to the forefront of my mind though. I think I will be going with Peco code 83, but that is probably another thread! We both know how I like starting threads.

Hi Helmut

PECO Code-83 seems like a reasonable choice. L:

I have some of the 'flex' here, which looks very nice indeed ...

... I haven't seen any of their switches up close & personal though ! ???

Despite the lighter-rail, I suspect it has been well engineered, to be problem free. :)

The only question is ... can you deal with the overall length of the switches ?

If you can, I'm sure the 'largish number' switches, probably look very realistic.

Less is more sometimes. :old dude:

An industrial-trackage type 'Timesaver' could work out, in Code-83, considerably longer than 6' though. :f:

Talking of small old-time switching locos ... N.G. but still ...

10-4 ... Rodgers that Good Buddy ... OVER ... Chccckkcx!   :cb:

Si.

I have some Peco code 100 switches, I like them compared to Atlas. If I get around to it before finding the code 83, I might build something with the stock I have and see how they fit into a small space.

I like that loco, what year is that catalog page from?
