Another track plan I've been working on, this time in HO,
based on Genesee Valley Transportation's Depew, Lancaster and Western railroad in Batavia, New York.

Real location can be found here: https://goo.gl/maps/XsRjbMqBnGy

Room size is 19' 9" x 9', tapering at one end where the door to the room is located.
The plan features both a continuous run mainline around the outside,
complete with hidden staging (accessed by removable background flat buildings),
and interchange yard, with an industrial shortline branching off around the inside.

A 9' x 20' HO layout should be enough to keep just about anyone busy.  The largest I ever built was about 10' x 10'.

I would like to have a runaround track over by Gromark Feeds, and maybe a turntable if using steam power.

I'd be tempted to add a station at the interchange yard so that I could have an excuse to run a few passenger trains.

A neat plan without any major complications.

Thanks Michael.

I deliberately left out any form of run around at the end of the branch as the prototype doesn't have one,
plus it'd be an excellent excuse for even modern modellers to run a caboose. :)

Since sketching this one up, I've tweaked it going on feedback I've received elsewhere,
and I think the following version adds a lot more to operations, particularly around the interchange yard.
