My situation:
I want my Bachmann On30 Heisler with sound module to quit jerking and losing audio on troublesome spots on my layout.

Proposed solution:
Install a capacitor in the bunker according to this article:

http://www.dccguy.com/?p=5078

Problem:
I can't hide a full 'CurrentKeeper' in the oil bunker,
and a single 'Soundtraxx' capacitor (part 810128) isn't strong enough to do the job.

Question:
Since I have room for two 810128 capacitors beneath the oil bunker,
should I try wiring them in series or parallel ?

I tried looking up the answer on Google, but I couldn't get a simple answer.

Capacitors wired in parallel give the sum of their respective capacities.

Both have to have the same voltage rating.

Capacitors are only wired in series if one wants them to withstand a higher than the rated voltage of each capacitor.

Doesn't make sense, normally.
10-02: I forgot to mention that the total capacity in this case is C1*C2/(C1+C2) with Cx( x =1,2) being the value of the individual capacitors, and less than the smallest Cx value.

To get the higher capacity from capacitors you need to wire them in parallel........Peter
