Howdy all,

My name is Mikel Parker,
been enjoying checking out the forum and decided to join the fun.

I have been interested in model railroading since I was young and been mostly into HO/HOn3 in last 20 plus years.
Mostly construct buildings and do a bit of scenery.

I do have the beginnings of a layout and have been hand laying some dual gauge trackage,
so I can run a variety of steam engines I have been collecting,
mostly brass and a kit built Mantua Hudson that was my first project when I got back into modelling in the 80s.

I will try and post some of my projects as I get time,
mostly been building older archaic kits and this is my latest.

Welcome Mike and those are fine looking buildings.

The second looks fairly generic but the history of the first would be interesting.

Howdy and welcome to Freerails. Glad you found this site, you'll have fun for sure. The old house looks to be an ancient Alexander "haunted house" kit. You did such a nice job on it, I think that I hear Norman Bates hollering "mother...mother"! And the nice general store makes me remember long ago when I worked at a place in Belton, TX called Bodie's rather than Bodine's. Great work on both models.
Post more photos, we love photos.

Yes, the first shot is my re working of The Alexander Models haunted house.

I've had it on the shelf for years because I loved it ever since I saw in a MR ad years ago and got it for a pittance at a swap meet.
I always thought it needed some reworking and then found Greg Shinnies version and was inspired.
There's no lights but a ghostly figure in an upper window, I'll try to capture.

I almost used CM "The Leadville House" for this idea but ended up building it straight, another great old Mansard roof.
Haven't weathered it or finished the interior yet but it does have stairs and rooms...you cant see, oh well.

More photos as I dumb some more down to size.
