Hy Guys,

Haven't been around for a while now, being newly retired my wife and I have been traveling quite a bit so not much done in my little train world.
I'm back at it now until January the 15 then we will be leaving for Cuba for 2 months.
Montreal is kinda cold and Cuba kinda warm :).

I hit a snag which I thought would be an easy fix but it is turning out to be a major problem.
I bought a Rivarossi Heisler a wile back HO scale I was planning to move it to my scale HOn3.
The problem is I can't find HOn3 Heisler trucks anywhere.
I was wondering if anybody here had some for sale or an idea where I could find some.

Dan

Howdy Dan,
on the HOn3 Heisler trucks, the only ones I know about are the old Westside Models(?) trucks from a long ago brass loco...by these days there could be more however.
I have owned a couple of the AHM/Rivarossi HO Heislers over the years and while it might be possible to "regauge" the stock trucks, it would be an undertaking that I wouldn't attempt.
Good luck with this.
The Rivarossi model would make a rather large loco, probably larger than any built for narrow gauge.
I would (this is my opinion only) look for one of the old brass locos that are around, those were smaller and would fit in with an HO logging scene.
With all that being written...just an idea...think about jumping into On30 with this.
The HO loco would not need any mechanical work and there are/have been kits to convert this loco into a fine On30 model. Just an idea!
I owned a brass HOn3 Heisler also long ago and it required a bunch of "tinkering" to make it run well anyway.
Wheew..it might be easier to find another pair of Rivarossi trucks that you could work on.
I am sure the regauge work can be done...anything is possible.

Keep us posted
Woodie

Hi Woodie,

First, thank you for the reply.
It is a pretty small loco, as for regaugeing them……
Not a chance I would undertake that process, I'm not tooled for that.
Switching to On30…not a good option for me.
I guess I will have to keep looking for replacement trucks or sell it and buy another.
Either way thank you so much for your input.

Dan

You could try Precision Scale Co.

I do not have the HO/HOn3 catalog, but it can be downloaded on line.

They may? make Heisler Trucks.
