[toast]

Hi there from the UK,

I'm building an On30 single rear wheel drive rail truck,

I wish to use the Bachmann 42907 fred device as pick-up back to the DCC decoder,

this will become the front four wheeled truck,

I wish to remove the circuit board and hard wire the brass or copper left and right trucks wheel pick-ups,

hoping this will work,

thanking you Mike.

Howdy Mike and welcome to Freerails.
While I am not familiar with the Bachmann device, yes, adding pickups on the truck certainly would aid track pickup.
The more wheels picking up power is the best way.
Let us know how this works, we all love railcars and "critters".

Woodie

Hi Mike

I introduced myself to 'Fred' as I hadn't seen him before !  ;)

I don't know if you've seen the 'Kadee' trucks with electrical pickup as well ?

Forrest has some stuff about those HO trucks over in the HO/OO Forum.  L:

Could be useful to check out & nice smallish size for a railtruck.

'Fred' looks good as well.

How's it all going Mike ?  ???

Have you got any pics. ?  :)

:moose:

Si.

Mike,

Are you aware that Bachmann once actually produced On30 Rail Trucks based on the Rio Grand Southern Motor #1?

I occasionally see them on Ebay and at Train shows here in the United States,

but they need to have their gears replaced because the stock ones are brittle and break very easily.
