Just came out of the layout room with smoke coming out of my ears.....
Tried to speed match an Atlas ALCO S-2, with an aftermarket Tsunami installed,
to my "Master" loco (my slowest loco... a BLI EMD switcher), as I do with all diesels.
A story in itself, with countless CVs to adjust in the speed table...
Now I experienced the same mess as with the other two (factory) Tsunami equipped Diesel Locos some time again...
Those were Bowser Baldwins, an AS 616 and an VO-1000.
1) The motor sound shuts down a few moments after the loco comes to a stop.
Even when switching, it often happens.
Have set the speed so the locos wont move at step 1.
So the sound wont quit when I come to a stop by selecting "1".
But most of the time it happens when changing directions.
Have tried to play with CV settings,
no real success although the manual says the time until shutdown can be adjusted.
2) On several spots of the layout, the locos will either stop or hesitate.
Fall silent (but keep moving) and then continue again.
Often they display blinking lights afterwards.
Have cleaned rails and wheels.
However, sometimes that happens on perfectly shiny nickel silver flex track,
where no other loco, even the tiniest critters, haven't any problems.
On one of the Baldwins, I have installed additional wheel wipers.
This really made a difference.
Cant believe all three new locos have so bad pickup they wont work with this decoder??
Have a number of Tsunami equipped steamers too, no such trouble with those.
