You're welcome Tom.

Hope you have as much fun and success with them as I have.
I managed to hide all mine behind the layout fascia, together with a DPDT switch,
to enable me to "move" the sound to different areas of the layout,
which have their own speakers.

I run my units off variable voltage regulated DC wall warts using the 9V setting,
and if your MP3 units are the same as mine, you should see the reverse side as this.

With power in, going to the red socket on the right,
and a three wire ribbon cable, from the right hand socket, of the pair on the left,
going to the amp.

Both cables should be included with the unit,
but you'll need to provide wire from the amp to your speaker.

Sean - yes indeed.

Thanks again for opening that door for me.

Most recent project is a wood crane for the car shop.
I've used the printer to make the swivel brackets at the top and bottom of the mast, that allow the crane to rotate.

Right now I'm waiting for some gears to be delivered to finish up the crane.
I don't think I could have gotten the same quality as the metal castings for these, if I had tried to print my own.

When finished, the crane will mount in the center of the deck behind the boxcar.

While waiting for some parts for the roundhouse sound system,
I started work laying the track between the turntable and the roundhouse.

At the turntable pit wall the track centers are 1.125" apart,
so I laid out all possible positions using a Sharpy,
and then placed ties on the ones that made the most sense to me.

The tracks that end at the edge of the layout will "suggest" that they run further out.

Hey guys, thanks for the nice comments.  One more detail that I left out.  If we zoom in on the car shop dock you can see a coal bin added at the right end.  I've never seen a small (residential style?) coal bin before so I just made one up.  Just behind the coal bin is the doorway into the machine shop.  When they added the deck outside they just modified an existing window in the wall for the door.  Inside will be a short stairway down to the shop floor and the boiler will be in the corner to the right of that.  I chose the coal bin location based on that.  I'll work on posting more photos.  Only able to do one at a time because I'm using a Mac.

As for the photo Posting ...

It doesn't matter if you have a Mac or P.C. when uploading 'Attachments' to Freerails.

1 'Attachment' per Post is normal, in any & every case.

This is not a bad thing.

Pages totally BLOATED with photos can take ages to load, for some viewers.

It is far better to have 'lean & mean' Pages & start a NEW Page more quickly.

Photos uploaded as 'Attachments', or from the Freerails Members Gallery, appear on Pages QUICK !!

Photos from poor 2nd rate photo hosts like PhotoBucket, Flickr & Imgur etc. SLOW Pages down massively.  :slow: :slow: :slow:

Plus of course, all ones 3rd party hosted photos, are likely to go MISSING, rendering Pages with them on useless !  :f: :td:

The FREE 'Freerails Members Gallery' is THE BEST WAY to get modelling photos uploaded to Freerails.  :bg:

In a nutshell ...  :old dude:

- - - - - - -

Once you have resized your photos to a sensible web size of under 0.5MB and 800 pixels wide ...

... Hit the 'MENU Button' at the top of every Freerails Page, and then the 'GALLERY Button' from the 'Drop Down MENU'.

Once on the 'GALLERY Page' you can then select 'UPLOAD PHOTOS' from the choices there ...

... A new Page appears where you can upload 5 photos at a time to your 'Freerails Members Gallery'.

Simply use the 'BROWSE Buttons' to find the sensibly resized photos you want from the files on your computer.

Once all 5 or less photos are selected hit the 'UPLOAD PHOTOS Button'.

The photos then have all been uploaded at once to your 'Freerails Members Gallery'.

- - - - - - -

Now the photos in your 'Gallery' can be COPIED & PASTED into the 'Main Reply Window'.

Click on the Thumbnail of the photo you want to Post, on one of your 'Freerails Members Gallery' Pages ...

... It is then ENLARGED ...

... Then 'Right Click' on the ENLARGED photo & select 'COPY IMAGE' ...

... Then in your open 'Main Reply Window' in another Browser-Tab ...

... Place the cursor where you want your photo to appear & 'Right Click' then select 'PASTE'.

The photo will appear where you've placed your cursor.

Doing this in some spare space between text is a good idea, for appearances sake.

Spare blank line space can be created simply by hitting 'Line Return' a few times.

Likewise 'excess spare blank lines' can be removed by placing your cursor & hitting 'Backspace'.

Clicking on a wrongly placed or unwanted photo in your 'Main Reply Window' will highlight it ...

... Then hitting 'Backspace' will remove it from your 'Main Reply Window'.

- - - - - - -

All these moves are just like a Word Processor, or many other simple COPY / PASTE computer actions.

Just experiment with the 'Main Reply Window' & you'll get the hang of it very quickly by experience.

It's much easier to use, than trying to describe how to use it !

- - - - - - -

The 'Freerails Members Gallery' also allows you to create seperate 'Folders' for your choice of subject.

It also allows other Members to 'Browse' your Gallery, from the top of the Page ^^ MENU button.

It also allows you to go back & select a previously uploaded photo, if you want to Post it a 2nd or 3rd time etc.

It is still good to keep Pages 'Lean & Mean' though.  :mex:

Around 10 photos per Page, more or less, is perfectly adequate & to be preferred really.  :thumb:

There is no benefit to huge numbers of photos per Page.  :us:

Si.
