As a new member I am finding my way around Freerails, some really great stuff going on.

I am a retired electronics engineer and have a great workshop... well a shed really.
My latest project is RC on 00 gauge.

I am using a 4-channel Remote and Receiver (ebay)
My prototype PCB uses the 4-channels to give:
acceleration,
deceleration,
forwards,
reverse.
Power comes from the rails and can be DC, AC,
or will run on a DCC powered track.

Still a lot of development work to do.
Looking good so far.

Hope there is some interest in this approach, or perhaps it is already well developed,
any info much appreciated.

cheers,

Steve

Hello Steve.

Not my scale or power method but it will be interesting to see how your projects develop.

Please do post lots of pictures.

Welcome Steve,

I'm like Doug, not my scale or power mode,
but I am always interested in what other modelers are doing,
because we can always learn something new.

R/C into OO will be interesting.
You have come to the right place to get info and help others.

Good luck with your project and please share pics and comments.

....Peter

Steve,

Welcome aboard!

You'll find all kinds of neat information here on RC and BPRC.

And, please share photos with us.  Everybody loves photos of a work in progress as well as the completed project.

Hi Steve

I'm pleased to hear that your 'radio shack' is great !  ;)

Mine is suffering from 'heaving' under the shear MASS of 'parts hoarding'.  :P

Well ... maybe I exaggerate by a few pico-parts.  :)

Steve sent in a photo of his new R.C. system to Freerails ...  :thumb:

... & it looks AWESOME ... and also fairly simple & to the point as well.

Certainly looks like the kinda thing I'd like to try for sure !  :bg:

I'm sure Steve will emerge from his shack/shed soon ... with some STELLA :s: photos !

WELCOME ! to Freerails Steve !!  :old dude:

Si.

Hi Peter,

thanks for the welcome and encouragement, yes I will post photos later.

I now have 2 locos running on same track to check that they don't interfere with each other, looking good.

thanks again

Steve

Hi Si,

thanks for your welcome and kind comments.

I reckon I am going to enjoy being a member of Freerails, it seems most welcoming and friendly.

Photos soon as I have done a bit more testing.

very best,

Steve

Welcome Steve:

Like you I am a EE and have been heavily involved since 2011 in advanced RC setups for O-Gauge, including battery powered and Bluetooth.

There is quite a controversy currently in place regarding the future direction of RC for the O-Gauge market.
