While I watch paint dry.....

Now I just purchased a 4-4-0 on the bay.

Anyone kit bashed one of these?

Because of the tight end corners this little fella will have to go from the log pond through down town and a turnoff to the sawmill.

Haven't bashed one per se, but they have a lot of possibilities, and they are good running.

Good luck, looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

I have a Forney 2-4-4 that shorts out the track,

I'm thinking of robbing the sound card and speaker for the 4-4-0.

Any thoughts?

It's an interesting loco.

I like the shape as well and thought about using it for a kitbash,
but when I saw one in person I realized it was BIG!

I am using 15" minimum radius,
so my trains have to be able to do that at least on the mains.

I am eyeing older models for a 4-4-0, or 2-4-0.
Also since I want a smaller look,
I am thinking of bashing from HO scale up to the 1:55n3 I do.

The smaller stuff seems more ideal for a fantasy short line.

As to lifting the sound card I see no reason why not,
although the chug sound recording in the DCC unit
may not be as beefy sounding as that larger 4-4-0.
