CVP had to follow the US FCC rules for wireless of 'ground' units,
which is different then the one used for model airplanes.

Thanks Nathan.

If they wanted to use the 2.4 Ghz band to control ground units,
would they be allowed to do so?

Thinks - the answer must be yes as Deltang stuff is sold in the USA,
and BlueRail trains uses 2.4 GHz Bluetooth.

As I understand it 2.4 GHz is the only common use frequency,
that is legal everywhere in the World.

Who knows why the main USA makers neglect 2.4 GHz,
when AristoCraft chose 2.4 GHz for the very reason it is legal for both air and ground use.

Buzby, they should wring his neck, I have been having trouble with my BT broadband for weeks.

They keep saying there is nothing wrong with it and don't understand the words 'intermittent fault'.

I am thinking of having a 4G wireless router.

I live only 600 yards from the EE mast.

Hi Dave

When I lived in Central-London ...  :pimp:

... I had both 'Cable London' ( I think ? ) for ages, which worked like a dream ...  :)

... THEN a move meant I ended up with B.T. Broadband, which worked like a NIGHTMARE !  :f:

My fingers will turn BLUE if I enter too much 'customer feedback' on my B.T. 'experience'.

I now live with the cows & grass in the 'burbs, with antique 1950s 'Post Office' copper up poles !  :f:

I cancelled my B.T. landline, phone & (so called) Broadband, PAH !! ...
... & am speaking to you via an Apple Laptop &  'E.E.' 4G Wireless Wi-Fi Broadband.  :brill:

It works GREAT.  :thumb:

The only problem you'll come up against compared to 'wired' Internet ...

... is DATA $$$ USAGE !!  :f:   :P

I can put my fag-pack sized 'router' in my pocket & go anywhere with it ...

... the battery lasts ages & it is FAST & can deal with 10 devices at once.  :s:

If you wanna watch load of videos, or download HUGE updates, or for me, sound files ...

... the DATA $$$ USAGE can be ... OUCH !!

Anyway ... Buzby never worked for B.T.  :us:

He took all the dough £££ he made from telecoms privatization ...  :td:

... & is putting his claws up in gold laced Gucci slippers, on his new penthouse perch in the Canary Islands !

Perhaps this discussion would be better suited in the general chat section

Thanks Si, glad to hear the EE 4G works.

My Win10 PC can monitor data usage so I have switched it on and log the data for 30 days.

I don't download lots of video or music.

Things emerge variously from general subject discussion Threads like this as a matter of course

It is inevitable that these things will sprout out of the general conversation sometimes

Generally speaking it is GOOD that Members are feeling FREE to Post whatever it may be

Better to have an ongoing communication between Members than communication drying up

Members trembling with FEAR their Post may be deemed OFF TOPIC ! is not the Freerails style

Going away from hard a$$ OFF TOPIC ! 'prison camp' style Admin. was Herbs general direction
