Hello all!

I have only been a Freerailer for a few months,
but the more I explore the various forums,
the more excited and grateful I am to be accepted as a member.

The amount of information and shared wisdom on this site is, tremendous.
I was going to say awesome, but, these days, a good hamburger is 'Awesome'.

It is at this point that I really want to do an emoticon thing,
but the bloody thing wont work.

Hi Murray

It has been reported on very rare occasions ...

... that a particular Member can't Post 'smileys'.

The difficulty is to do with something in that Members particular computer setup ...

... combination of hardware, browser, setup, ad-blockers, plug-ins etc. etc.

Because most Members have no great knowledge about these things ...

... it has never been possible, in these rare instances, to offer an explanation.

I use Freerails on both P.C. & Mac ...

... with 3 different Operating Systems & 6 different Browsers ...

... & also on an Android cellphone, all without any issues.

Sorry it's not possible to be more help.

Si.

I upload photos into the gallery on one tab, then open Freerails again on a second tab.

I'll copy the selected photo from the gallery on the first tab, and paste the photo into a reply on the second tab.

There are comprehensive directions on uploading photos in the appropriate Freerails Forums

It is best that these carefully posted official directions are read carefully and followed carefully

Usually when people say "they cant" its because they have not read the posted directions

It then means that the same old subject is discussed yet again often in the wrong place

There are instructions for uploading photos in the Photo Posting Forum

Technical Help is given in the Freerails Technical Help Thread

It is pointless discussing these matters anywhere else as the replies are in the wrong places

There is no issue in uploading photos to Freerails if you read the instructions and follow them

Any further discussion of Photo Posting here in the wrong Forum will be removed in the interest of clarity

So, anyway, the idea of the thread was to say how terrific it is to have access to so much useful information.

What strikes me is the yooge variety of scales and gauges being modelled!

If you are modelling in  7/64n27  ? ??? someone will already be doing it.

I am much more easily pleased.

Right now I am playing with 0n30, or, if you prefer, 0n2 1/2.

Looks good, goes good, lots of stuff available.

What's not to love? :2t:

I dont know why, but all of a sudden, the smiley things work.

I am as happy as a boy with two, er, train sets. :)

" I dont know why, but all of a sudden, the smiley things work "

Nothing has changed here at Freerails HQ regarding any of the Site software or settings

It only ever does once in a blue moon or less !

It confirms again that any smiley weirdness is always a product of a users odd computer setup

Never anything to do with actual Site operation

I dunno, Eddie, and dont really care.

Nothing has changed at this end, it's still just a plain old 'puter sitting on a desk.

Just all of a sudden it worked!

The emoticons don't work for me either, and I've long ago given up trying to make them work.
I'll cut and paste other people's when they're called for.

As for this forum itself, there might be forums with a lot more traffic than this,
but this one, I feel, has the best content per post.

Totally agree, Lee.

This is a goldmine of information and ideas, and the folk all seem friendly and helpful.

I am a big fan!
