Just won this on eBay last night 4-4-0 DCC Bachmann Spectrum #28304

(Hope I didn't out bid anyone here) :thumb:

By the number I'm guessing it's an early model.

Can't wait to get it.

Anyone have one of these?  Experience?

Hi Paul

Looks like a good one to me !  :thumb:

Got any ideas for her ?  ???

The Forney BASH makes sense, cos of your tight curves.

I think the 4-4-0 might be a lot better around those, than the unBASHed Forney anyway.

She looks pretty nice as is to me !  [whack]

I love my little 4-4-0.

What to do with her?

I "upscaled" mine to 1:35n2 with a new wooden cab, some PSC details-headlight, whistle, etc. And a green paint job.

Here she is a few years ago hauling her open air coach on the old Mogollon Railway main line.

I'll have to wait and see.

First she needs to be tested on my tighter turns.

Actually first she has to be shipped to me......Waitin ;)

Easy 18" radius...and I had a 15" radius on the old layout that she snaked around.
I have read drivel on "de net" about how small this 4-4-0 is, some "experts" say too small...
BUT, Baldwin built the smallest 4-4-0, 10 tons, for a tourist line in Mexico City.
Of course, the Mt. Gretna line in Penna. had (I believe) 4 of these little jewels,
not much larger than the Mexican job.
This loco looks to be in the 10 to 12 ton range, maybe a bit more.
Actually, who cares? She's a "looker" and runs very well.

Not to mention that the 4-4-0 is a great running loco,

one of Bachmann’s more reliable units.
