Bygone and lost layouts

Over the past thirty-five plus years there have been a series of small exhibit-able layouts that have come out of the workshop,
most were HO and all German in outline.

Now that retirement and poverty is upon us, making and exhibiting layouts has all but ceased.
Instead the walls of the workshop surround a small permanent layout that is neither HO nor German,
it replicates the shortline that once ran through the lush Stour valley a few miles from my door.

However, friends have suggested a collection of images of lost, sold and bygone layouts,
might be a fitting end to a lifetime's journey* through model railways.
This post starts with a link to that collection.

Tim

*Just thirty-five years,
well, I also managed to shoe horn twenty five years in the military,
and further twenty five years in support of the military,
spare time was not plentiful.

Wow, nice work!
How many of these portable display 'show' layouts get sold when the previous owner passes on or decides to get rid of it?

People talk about how famous a layout is in the US, but it’s usually from magazines and the internet.
Across the pond, you have a real chance of seeing a layout in person as many of them travel to train shows.
