On a recent archaeological dig at the back of the garage, I unearthed my long forgotten
(alzheimer's is great for making new discoveries) 'stash' of styrene sheet and strip.

While most of it is aimed at my HO days with sheets of 4100 V groove,
I pressed on and knocked together 2 warehouses and a mill office/assay office in 3 days.

This is in addition to my sometimes slow progress on the mill itself.
The occasion warranted a photo or two.

That's all my structures to date,
the warehouses in the lower left, with the sampling works above (gotta paint the boiler stack),
the mill office/assay office/locker room lower right,
and the big Devils Gate #2 (held together with sticky tape lol)

See photos bellow.

While on an archaeological dig at the back of the garage,
I came across my old stash of styrene from my HO days.

Failing to resist the urge to do something, I made the most of 2 warehouses,
and a mill office/assay office/locker room in 3 days.

The two warehouses and sampling works are on the left, while the office is lower right.

That's my big Devils Gate No.2 mill with 3 40' boxcars for size comparison.

The sampling works.

One of my warehouses.
It didn't seem big enough, so I did an extension to it.

Howdy Russ, very fine work and especially since it is N scale!
I wish that I could build an N/Nn3 layout but my po' old eyes won't permit it.
Sometimes I think that 1:35n2 is getting too small...what's next?
Maybe if I had the money, something that I could ride on,
but then I'm too old to build something like that.
Send more photos of your outstanding work, please.

Woodie

Thanks Woodie!!

I know what you mean, I'm 61 and my arms just don't seem to be long enough any more!!

Seems once you're past 55 the warranty's expired and everything goes kaput!!

Well...

I'm surprised to find my old post from years ago (before my near death experience),
still here in the logging forum, 2-4-4-2 Thread.

I have one of those 2-4-4-2 Powerhouse locos.
Sure was a smooth runner.

I built an oil tank for the tender,
and was half way through installing a Tsunami sound decoder when I moved west
(of course the engine is still over east in NSW).  :bang:

Now, with my changing to On30,
I suppose I'll sell it off with my other logging stuff....

A bit dark photo, but some of my logging fleet,
with my 2-4-4-2 on the front track, a few years back.
