Well, will try giving you some idea about me and 'Ma & Pa'.
First, as long as I can remember,
I have been a nut over steam locomotives.
Started subscribing to Model Railroader way back when.
In '60-'70s MR had many articles on the 'Ma & Pa'.
Found a book by George W Hilton,
"The Ma & Pa - A history of the Maryland & Pennsylvania Railroad"
in my early HS days, which is filled with facts and photos.
(A book anyone interested in 1900 era steam should read)
I decided that this would be one more fine RR to model.
In its complete life span, 'Ma & Pa' only owned 21 steam locomotives.
There were others, that belonged to various roads, that were absorbed over the years.
I have had to build most of the rolling stock, and rebuilding available locomotives,
since very few are/were available on the market.
I have managed to get models of all 21 locomotives, in both N and HO scale.
Either purchasing or reworking model locomotives,
that fit the locomotive wheel arrangement.
And to build all coach, baggage, combination's and cabooses in both scales.
Total length of 'Ma & Pa' was around 44 miles,
from Baltimore MA, to York PA, if my memory is correct.
Actually, I enjoy building more than operating, including structures.
But I do have plans for a "New" small 36" x 84" N-scale layout.
Already have rail and over 20 turnouts, only need to find space for the layout.
My current HO 'Ma & Pa', is on 8' x 12' table.
I hope this sorta explains my fascination with 'Ma & Pa'.
