Morning Peter

Early days, but going by yesterday at pre-poll,
our ALP candidate will get back in.

I will send you a couple of pics. of our set up with the gazebo,
was a great day, full on day again today, day off tomorrow.

I didn't get a chance to nail the track down on the bridge on Sunday, was visiting day.
Saturday I have to mow the grass, will do the track nailing after that.

Will do a photo shoot with 3801 sitting on the track, may even get out the Flying Scot,
mine has a double tender, and the second one is powered as well.

Tony

" Hi Si.

Most above arch bridges are of a tube construction,
so why not have the steps inside the arch,
and a platform at the bottom of the arch and the same on top.

Hi Tony

I think in the end, what works really well, is keeping the bridge ^^ MINIMAL.  L:
That is essentially 'the look' of most mooodern bridges I guess. :brill:

They have pretty much all been pared down, to just engineered-concrete & steel-string !  :P

No more pesky RIVETS these days !  :f:

All that 'Sydney Harbour' & 'Firth Of Forth' RIVETing ...

... was just TOO MANY holes to drill !!  ;)

- - - - - - -

" Will have a viewing platform at the top of the arch,
and extended platform ramp for glider jumping off."

If You Haven't Got A Hang-Glider Handy ...

I have to say Tony ...

... I'm not convinced I wanna see ANYTHING at the top of your arch.  :us:

It just looks too darn good as it is ...  :thumb:

... & will look even better with that 'Flying Scotsman' on it !

I had a slightly clunky old 'Tri-ang' OO one about 40 years ago ...  :old dude:

... my 'Tri-ang' hoard is supposed to be limited to 'Transcontinental' HO these days ...

... Aussie 'versions' included of course !   ;)

:java::moose: :dt:

Hi Si.

Many thanks.

Will have to wait a little while for the viewing platform,
I won't be having any steps on the arch,
as you say, the modern bridges use hollow steel beams, even for arch bridges.

I will make out the steps be inside the arch beams,
will have an entrance platform at the track deck level, and at the top of the arch.

The bridge has being painted gray, looking damn good,
very happy with the construction, and it works.

WOW  here are two pics. to blow you away.

Ready to nail the double track down and solder in the feeder wires to the bus wires,
already posted those pics, don't know why I put on an older pic.

I have decided to add in a spiral to make a longer single line running,
sadly the second level is 6 foot across,
want to make use of all the decking which is from the last module layout.

When finished will have three lots of single track running on the main line,
freight trains won't be running through the station platforms,
very happy indeed.

Tony from stormy down under keeping on moving ahead.
