Hi everybody

My name is John and I am very happy to be a part of the group.

I model in On30, mostly California short lines and anything logging and mining.

I am now a retired machinist.
My shop was destroyed in the camp fire of Nov. 2018 and I will not rebuild it.

I am looking forward to building my 20x30 model railroad,
which will include logging and mining branch lines.

I will be operating with battery powered radio control equipment.

I plan to use ground throws and servos for turnout control.
Most of my track will be hand laid code 100.

I probably won't be able to start for at least a year, because we will be moving soon,
and I will have to erect a 30x40 building for the layout,
and will include an area for a garage/shop.

Thanks for accepting me as a member, and I look forward to reading your posts,
and hopefully posting some useful information as well.

Welcome aboard!

You'll find a number of threads for both On30,
and BPRC (Battery Powered Radio Control) here.

There is a wealth of information,
and everyone is willing to provide ideas and suggestions.

A 30 x 40 building for layout and shop!
Most of us could only dream.

Looking forward to seeing your progress.
