I agree Steven.

I'm leaning toward the top one with closer track spacing,
since my rolling stock is smaller than what the original was planned for.

I wonder if I can 'open up' the Grand Central Mine kit,
build it against the backdrop so that it is twice as wide.

Time to photocopy the plan and do a bit of cut and paste.

Lucky! I opened the Virginia City Ore Bin kit,
and the instructions were gone...
Oh no!

I did a quick internet search trying to find a set and no luck.

Then I dug through a pile of plans that are in the 'need to be filed' bin,
and behold, there they were.
Whoooooooo!

Pondering lighting.

Will the extra 48" florescent shop light I have be to much?
One or two bulbs?  Diffuser or not?
hmmm

Time to experiment!

Massive distraction today.
A link led me to Voie Libre International digital magazine hosted on Zinio.  Way Cool!
I took a screenshot of one of the articles to give you an idea:

Here is a link if you want to check it out:

Neat loco.

For a small layout like you are contemplating, you could do a single industry,
and build a little loco or two like that and it would be perfect.

Moving mainline cars to supplies in,
moving plant cars from one manufacturing stage to another,
then moving mainline cars to spots for loading finished product...
then back out to the interchange.

Quite a busy little layout.  :thumb:

Cool idea Steven.

I think I'll do a mining complex using the kits I have.
I'll kitbash them to fit the space.

The first Locomotives will be the GD Box Cabs.

The article I posted,
makes me think about how I can use my Cricut Maker to cut/score the styrene parts.

I'll try that with On30.
I have a Black Beatle power truck that would be perfect.

Hi Derek

I find that the 1000 Watt halogen lamp I have is good.

:!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

The cost $$$ of high-power LED versions is going down as well.

I recently bought a very nice 50 Watt LED light ...

... same as a 500 Watt halogen.
