Hi Dave,

I like the way you are thinking this through.

Could the smaller HO water cars could be used for the transhipment from farm dock to pickling plant,
with the larger On30 cars standing in for the haul-away cars of processed pickles??

If you line your tanks with cling wrap and hide a steel washer under the top layer of pickles,
and pour in undiluted PVA glue and then top up with pickles,
then perhaps you could have removable pickle loads?

I've seen the technique used for coal loads so I can't see why it wouldn't work for pickles.
Food for some additional thought?

Thanks, John, for your thoughts.

I really like these little Bachmann cars,
and the application you describe would be enough reason for my getting a few more.

The tapered tubs would make removable pickle loads easy to load and remove.
Thanks for the idea!

Regards, Dave L.

I have assembled a small pickle train.

The Bachmann pickle (water) cars are plentiful on Ebay.

I have removed the UPRR lettering from the cars.

Thanks, John.

Still musing about a less expensive way to represent those pickles.

The beads are nice, but the holes are an issue.

There might be a candy at the candy store that would work.

Regards, Dave L.
