When organizing things, found two plastic trolleys,
I built in 1995, according to my spreadsheet.
This was when I came back to model railroading, after a long hiatus.
Had little money to spend back then, so butchered plastic toys.
This one started as a two car Mechanotechnica set,
imported to the USA by IHC.
Body looks quite good but drive is a complete mess,
so joined the two bodies for a double trucker.
Fabricated a railroad roof, by adding resin pieces to the clerestory ends.
Drive is the front half of an Roco Duewag articulated streetcar.

Lost interest then, never had it running. Now added all the missing pieces,
a decoder (hidden under the seats), LEDs, and two nice brass trolley poles.
Also found that I had glued the NWSL sideframes onto the Roco trucks upside down.
Didn't know better then!
BTW, those 'Woodland City Lines' decals were some of my first home printed decals...
We had a $$$$ printer at the office, that printed in black and red only.
State of the art then. No connection to a PC.
Had the design printed on a piece of paper, then copied it on the decal sheet.
Things have changed!

And here the next project...

Allegedly the white metal components were sold by Huntington Model Works.
No documentation or assembly guide with them.
Have put it on a Halling "ULF" (Ultra Low Floor) drive,
there is still some space left for a decoder in the cab.
More soon.

Finished the strange work motor...
As always, the "one evening job" took several days,
with several pitfalls and some cursing.
There is a decoder hidden in the cab,
and this thing has front and rear headlamps.
Plus a roof lamp that may shine on the platform,
if workers have to fix things in the wee hours of the night.

As the roof was missing,
I substituted a piece from a plastic caboose wreck.
Finally, I placed an easy chair on the deck, for workers to relax between jobs.
The box beside it holds refreshments.

To my immeasurable delight,
I found a spray can that matches my idea of "Traction Orange".
'Dupli Color' 4-0200
This will save me hours of mixing and cleaning this f.... airbrush.
A sore point is that I feel the thing is rather 1:72 or so, than real HO scale...
But this is vintage stuff, have to live with it.

Glad you like it.
It gave me some headache y'day...
Did some little touch up work, then wanted to run it... Balked...
When I sprayed the inaccessible original wipers with cleaner, It moved a little...
Finally found those pesky bronze wipers,
had only contact to two diagonally opposite wheels.
Maybe they got hot from excessive current, and lost tension?
As I glued the drive to the bed to avoid unsighty exposed screw heads,
no way to fix this...
Bent additional wipers from nickel silver wire,
and installed them on the underside.
Now it runs perfect.

Hey, nice fix on that one.
Also, that Mehano kitbash combination turned out looking grand.

Finished the second find from the Nineties...
A cheap Japanese, I also put on a Roco Duewag drive long ago...
Funny little thing.
I then painted it with the real good Floquil UP "Armor Yellow",
and put Pacific Electric stripes on it.
Oh if I still could buy a few bottles of Floquil today.

Hmmm... When looking at pics. of the kit,
I notice there were beautiful Brill type trucks/sideframes included.
Have to look for the leftover parts...
Think the box of the kit is still downstairs.

I would happily go for some of their Polly S, Polly Scale paint,
& a bottle of their Plastic Prep.
