Ahh, HOn30 ...
I was quite enchanted by it, in an article in a 1981 or so Model Railroader,
about Dave Frary and/or Bob Hayden's Carrabassett and Dead River layout.
And modeled in that for several years.

Lots of fun!
And much more available for it now, than there was in the early 1980s.
Haven't looked but will bet there is even 3D printed stuff available at Shapeways.

And yes, much inspiration could and can be had,
at Carl Arendt's website galleries.
