I had to sacrifice the rear headlight.  
If I routed the wires alongside the flywheel,
they rubbed on the flywheel and affected operation. 

If I routed the wires over the flywheel,
they got jammed between the shell and the rear trucks electrical pick up,
jamming the truck.
