Michael-O scale 2 rail is easily "converted" to r/c/. I would go with 2 instead of 3...My rationale is that (1) I prefer 2 rails over 3 (unless it is dual gauge). (2) Converting a 3 rail (tinplate) loco to r/c might be an easy fix but why not go 2 rail to begin with, because (3) With r/c, it doesn't matter whether you have 2, 3, or 5 rails, or no track at all...the train will still run.
(My opinion)...I never liked 3 rail. When I was a little kid, I loved my American Flyer train much more than my Lionel train because real railroads ran on 2 rails and I never saw one running on 3 rails.
I have a layout in my back yard-the Mogollon Railway-and just love it there. I found two things I control and running trains under the sun and moon.
With all that out of the way...WELCOME TO FREERAILS and don't be shy.

It doesn't matter if you win or lose, its' how you rig the game.
