Hi Tony, Welcome to the forum. I will be very pleased if my modest effort can give you some inspiration. Most people I talk to say HO outside is not viable, but for me, things like wide turns, and long trains disappearing into the distance more than make the effort worthwhile.

A couple of tips for you before you get too much track laid -
1)I no longer have turnouts out in the weather, as they become unreliable quite quickly
2)You should ensure EVERY piece of rail has a direct connection to your power buss.

Ignore both tips if you are planning to use something other than track power to run your loco's
