Thats a great interpretation of the plan. It would be very tempting to make it shorter or narrower in N scale but somehow you've built a micro layout with more country than rail. There is something in all of us that usually means we lay rail parallel to the edge of the benchwork. I think slewing the tracks at an angle and a bit of unoccupied real estate makes the layout appear generous. The original Piano line was littered with detail, but for my money a grain elevator as the focal point, bland scenery, and restrained detailing would keep the look. Looking forward to the rest of the build.
