The photo suggests these are typical toy market points built with curvature on the closure rails so I am not surprised the guard rails are being used to drive the wheels the correct side of the crossing nose. Still I am sure you will achieve satisfactory running in the end. Once you have the needed dimensions other similar points will present no problems.

That's the problem with leading the way, you get to find the bumps first Bob :>)
