Be sure to watch far enough to see the auto version as well. :moose::moose::moose::moose:

I'll see your ford tractor screw drive and raise you a Russian Zil!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afJ18eJeNgU

Though yes, the ford was the inspiration for this thing as well.

I'll see your ZIL Jake, and raise you the fact that the Fordson, was developed in 1924! :)

The Russian videos have a 70's or 80's feel to them.

Scoreboard!!!!  :glad:LOL!

And the car is a mid '20's Chevy!!!!!

I wonder how long it took to change from car to screwmobile and back?

Would the snow be melted by then?

 Where can I get an old garden tractor and a couple of 55 gallon drums? I could do some 1 to1 kitbashing.

I've thought about such a thing too, but it'd be reeeaaal sllloowwww, the gear reduction to overcome all that friction and whatnot. Not to mention ya might go nuts trying to design the transmission...

Can't be too much friction in snow- the Chevy was only about 22-24 HP.

Not that the Fordson was that much more.

Lets see----two old 100lb propane bottles, and a 350 with twin turbos--------

I may not build such an outrageous thing (like I don't build outrageous things already) but the weathering is something to behold.  However, the crafty modeler could make something like this in say, 1:32 or larger scale and run it with r/c. I need to quit looking at this old Fordson...awww, I can't turn away... Hmmmmm... Woodie

Steve-an HO model? HO HO HO! If I was to build one, it would have to be in a larger scale (1:35 or 1:32) and after last winter here, I am sure it could be put to use. Wonder how it would operate on swampy ground?  I can imagine how to build the thing and make it work, maybe some crazed individual will make one. What a hoot!

That's not calling Woodie, it's crawling around his back yard. Hope it is still there. Heard on the news they had some nasty winds or something.
