Good morning all;

Just a quick note of introduction; my name is Andrew and I am a committed modeller of all things HO and O scale. I model specifically short lines and prefer the last mile first mile of operations.

Currently building my first layout in a long time, due to $ and time constraints. A freelanced industrial switching layout based somewhere in Central Texas, USA.

For more information about my modelling adventures you might like to follow the links in my signature and visit the under powered and over loaded blog or my layout design gallery.

The layout design gallery hosts all of the files formerly hosted at andrews-trains.fotopic.net and is slowly but surely growing in size. There may be a burst this week as I am on holiday.

All the best and looking forward to talking to you all.

Regards

Herb;

THanks for the welcome, but that would be Andrew, not Martin as a first name...
LOL

Andrew I'm located in Berwick, way out the other side of the big smoke. There again Ballarat is just about a outer suburb of Melbourne

Howdy Andrew, welcome. I grew up in Central Texas and now live in Dallas. If there's anything you need to know about the area, give me a shout.

Luckily I married a native Austinite. We lived in Austin and Kyle TX (down near San marco off of I35) for almost 10 years before moving back to Australia. So I have a bunch of photos of the area and the trains for reference.

Although we've been gone now for almost 6 years now and I imagine that things have changed quite a bit. The Light rail being but one of the additions to Saltillo Plaza station downtown.

Still keep in contact with my friends there. Miss King's Hobby though over on Nth Lamar. Best hobby shop I know of. Nothing like that here for either service or range. Service being foremost to me.

All the best and thanks for the offer of assistance. Spent quite a lot of time for employers in the are you now live in. Loved the trains over in Cowtown right beside the road. Cannot remember the name, although it may have been the Fort Worth & Western. Red and Grey GPs out near a friends place their. Never did mange to get photos.

All the best.
