Very early "photo" of a Baldwin Flexible wheelbase 0-8-0 rack and adhesion loco for the Madison Incline.

Si.

Do like the trackage.

Much more typical then you see on the average model railway,

based on similar concepts of tramlines etc.

where the track has to be Class 1 standards.

Has this US Army WW2 locomotive, an Evans Railcar, been posted before ?

The design started in 1938.

Just browsing the Delaware Public Archives, Jackson & Sharp collection....

Railcars, trolleys, many vehicles intended for faraway places.

This is one of the weirdest ones....

Check the factory umbrella !!

Seems the rubber tires are lower than the flanged wheels...
Wonder how this goes over a turnout ?

Evans built / converted a number of strange vehicles for RR use.
I can't show all here, but a web search for "Evans Autorailer",
turns up trucks, railcars, a road-rail going truck-train, railbusses...

I am currently working on several versions of their railbusses,
which I have printed in 3D.

The basic model, as the prototype looked,
when demoted to MOW work on the Washington & Old Dominion,
is shown here, but I will do several variants.

Designer is "firstpersonscalemodels"
