There's 2 CR1220 batteries in the box.

They're 3v Lithium and sell for under $1 US each.

The push button has 5 settings: solid on, fast blink, slow blink, fast fade, slow fade. All the components seem well built.

The one issue I thought of is...can these be placed on a metal surface without shorting out? I have the double-sided tape in between the cloth "wire" and the aluminum body, maybe I need to email them and ask.

I'll guess they run them in series to give 6V. At that price might not be worthwhile making up a rechargeable pack.

I think you're right Bob on them being in series.

I don't run my passenger cars often, if I could ever clear out the rest of upstairs I'd more than double the length of the mainline, THEN they stretch their legs :old dude:

I need to buy some sitting-down peeps to populate a couple of my cars. I'm always seeing a bag of 50 to 100 on ebay, but don't know about the quality. I believe they come from China.

I would buy one of those 50 packs of little people.  Don't worry about quality because other than their head in the window, they really wont be seen.

Good thinking Dave [toast].

If I can avoid painting "Google Eyes" on them I'll be alright. There ought to be decals for 1/48 scale eyes :brill:

I have a pack of 100 for populating carriages etc. Good value and more than detailed enough for that use.
They can also be improved with more painting of the face if needed for ones that might get closer inspection.
