Hello everyone My name is Annie and I live in New Zealand. I come from a railway family and I've been nuts about everything to do with railways, - particularly steam era railways, - for as long as I can remember. I've had a go at most scales and gauges, but due to aging eyesight and chronic illness I work in 16mm scale these days with a particular interest in mining and timber tramways.
Being no longer flexible enough to be crawling under baseboards hunting for wiring faults I've given up on track power and much prefer to run my locos on batteries with hand in the cab type control methods. This is fine for my larger 45mm gauge locos, only at present I'm looking at building some smaller 16.5mm gauge models and I'd like to find out more about using radio control. Friends on the Narrow Gauge Railway Modelling Online forum have mentioned Free Rails to me so I here I am.

Thanks Ken :) If I'm going to be exploring the mysteries of wireless control this looked like it was the place to be.

Hi Annie,

Welcome.

Glad you have discovered freerails. You know me as gardenville on the other forum.

Freerails has more information on Radio Control for model trains then any other place on the internet.

Howdy Annie, welcome to the site. Just ask any question and if someone doesn't answer with the right information then I will write something silly. Yes, if you are investigating radio control then this is the place for CORRECT info.

Woodie

G'Day Annie,
Welcome to here as well. There is probably more R/C here than most other places on the web.

And the inmates are friendly as well,

Welcome Annie!

Netball, Rugby?!?!?! Not sure if we have those here in Virginia :cb:

Actually, I used to work with a guy that played on the Norfolk City Blues, he was well into his 60s and still playing.

I've only been in BPRC for a little over 1 year so I'm still a newbie as well I guess. Plenty of information on this forum if you have the time.

BobD.
