" 'LEGO' is a handy tool to have when building models "

Hi    Ken

I wouldn't be without it !

L:  ... & a little bit of M.E.K. between the pair, on the right, of regular 1x2x2 'LEGO' Bricks later ...

... The Worlds 1st experimental 2x2x2 double-ended 'LEGO' Brick !!  :java::brill: :dt:

Have I been playing with my LEGO bricks much lately ?  ???

Well ... Yes ... & ... No ... Been quite busy on various things though !  :P

I thought I'd Post a bit more about my LEGO constructions HERE though ...

... as I've cluttered up one of Canadian    Kens topics with them so far !  :)

In 'LEGO-speak' I think these ^^ are referred to as :- 3x3x2 Cones !  :old dude:

Just what I needed, as it happened ...

Anyway ...  :old dude:

I know it's impossible to do a tankcar step-by-step ...

... without a few modded crane, bench photos creeping into it !  :P

But my very first inspiration & what needs these mysterious 'LEGO' cones ...

... was this screenshot photo, uploaded some time back, by Canadian    Ken.

(who has also kept me busy, by sending Lionel derrick bits & plow plans by post !)

Mmm ...  L:

So we've got a nice & blurry proto-photo, from Canadian    Ken.  L:

( Just how I like them ... no rivet-counters are gonna be able to say $4!7 'bout nut'in' ! )  :P

Some LEGO™ cones + other bits & bobs of LEGO™ ...

... Now, if only I could find that 'special' double-ended LEGO™ brick I made earlier ?  L:

:java: ;) :dt:

Meanwhile back at the ranch ... :mex:  :java::moose:  :time:

I found my 'custom built' 2x2x2 double-ended LEGO™ brick ...

(not available in a store near you anytime soon)  :P

... & decided 1.666 or 1 2/3 of a brick-thick ...
... between the 3x3x2 cone & circular 1x4x4, was TOO thick ...  :dope:

... so shifted down a 1/3 thickness to 1.333 or 1 1/3 brick-thick, cone to circle.

As shown in this 'ere foto.  L:

My 'Pat.Pending' 2x2x2 double-ender LEGO™ brick, is the black-cube on the left ...  :brill:

... & an 'official issue' pair of LEGO™ 1x2x2 bricks, is the black-cube on the right.

With another 1x4x4 circular LEGO™ brown brick, in the middle !  :thumb:

So far ... So good !  :old dude:

Here's one of the possibilities ...

... that DIDN'T make it to the workshop !  L:

It would have worked well, but just didn't look right to me.  :P

The tank in the middle is a small & handy kit by 'Ratio Plastic Models' in the U.K.  :thumb:

The ends are a very nice pair of stainless-steel salt & pepper pots ...

... NO ! ... they weren't going under my legendary HACKSAW !  :w:

I wondered if I could use them as styrene 'cone formers' ... without ruining them !  :P

Another day ... another tankcar ... maybe.  :us:

:boogie:

PHEW !
Step-by-step & brick-by-brick ...  :old dude:

:time:

The final  LEGO™  brick "Tanque Charuto" tank armature ...  :brill:

... gets a  'look  see'  on one of my hi-tech  Plastruct™  underframe making jigs.  L:

(the  M.M.M.M.M.& M.Co.  Tank Manufacture™  technique)   :P   (mucho ™s Amigo)  ;)

It kinda looks a bit long here ...

... but the ends are both destined for the CIGAR CUTTER !   :mex:
