Hello to all,
Here's my intro.......age 78, been an HO gauge modeler since about 1980, born in Philadelpia, PA, lived in MA, CT, VA & VT, enlisted in USAF. Am now retired after spending 30 odd years in the automotive business, mostly as a service manage. I have always been interested in trains ever since my grandmother gave me my first Lionel for Christmas when I was three but never really got into model trains until joining a club around 1984. That really hooked me. I now belong to my second club in Lebanon, NH that meets every Weds. night. I prefer steam but tolerate 1st generation diesel. Up until eleven years old I was fortunate to live between the Pennsy and the B&O. That all ended when my Dad moved us from PA to MA in 1949.
Since retiring, I find the new models don't fit my budget very well but that's no problem because the thing I like most about the hobby is making an old loco run as nice as new one. Thanks to eBay I can find an old timer to kit bash or re-power and that gives me plenty to do. I've be going to the Northeast Proto Modellers Meet for five years now and that's where I became interested in BPRC and I hope to go again in 2017.

Howdy Richard, welcome to Freerails. Like you, I am on anti-social security but even if I had a bunch of cash, I would still prefer to mess with older stuff & make it work. On the subject of BPRC, there's plenty here to interest you. Check it out.
