Been interested in railroads and modeling for decades.  Most of my layouts were in HO, but over that last 10 years or so I've moved into larger scales (eyes are not as good as they use to be).

I've collected some G scale equipment; had a small On30 layout but that went away due to life getting in the way.  Right now I have a small Lionel layout (4 x 10 feet) up and running just to have fun.  I'm working on a little On30 mine train to add some interest to the Lionel layout.  I just finished a small flatcar that is a scale 6 feet long by 7 feet wide.  It's a beginning.





I set up a 6" radius circle just to test things out with.

Nice scratchbuild on that flatcar!
On30, I think, is open for more wide a spectrum of modeling than almost any other scale/gauge. You can do downright cartoonish if you want, to the other end of the spectrum to almost museum-quality modeling. I've seen anywhere between these two points done in On30...
