Hi All! Another new member here! I'm Gary and I'm from London, Canada. Just turned three-score years old last year and decided it was time to explore model railroading after thinking about it for way too long. I dabbled in N scale way back in my teens and twenty's for a very short while but then "life" got in the way and other than building a couple of Christmas themed ON30 layouts and a few Boulder Valley Model kits I never did much about it until a few months ago when I decided to build a modest ON30 2x8 shelf switcher roughly based on the famous Gum Stump & Snowshoe design. I'll start a thread in the ON30 forum outlining my progress, successes and failures, (hey, it's all fun, right? ![]() Looking forward to learning from you folks as I journey through the fascinating world of model railroading! Thanks very much folks! I appreciate the welcome. I've been spending quite a bit of time on various forums but I think freerails has the ambience that I'm looking for: Relaxed and friendly, helpful but not too technical -- I am NOT a prototypical modeler so need a very forgiving audience! ![]() |
