My name is Ric Golding. I live at our home base with my wife and partner of almost 45 years, 50 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri. I've been a model railroader most of my 68years. I model in HO up thru 1/8th ride on, but my emphasis is on "Operations". I'm starting a new HO switching puzzle and basing it on the Manufacturers Railway at the Foot ofArsenal Street in south St. Louis, Missouri that was owned by the Anheuser Busch family.I was drawn to this site by a search on Anheuser Busch Railroad and here I am.

Nice to see you on Freerails !

Despite being a narrow gauger...

...I couldn't resist the temptation to attempt a small HO layout.

Don't know if you have a trackplan in mind...

...or perhaps that is something to be worked out.

There are a ton of options...

...but don't ask me, I'm rotten at trackplans !

Many say 'less is more', they could well be right.

I think urban switching is a great subject in any case.

Howdy Ric, welcome to Freerails. I'm sure that you will find a lot of interesting stuff here. A friend of mine models "Eastern" roads and right now he is working up some SW 1500's lettered for TRRA, Alton & Southern, and Manufacturers Railway. He's a dedicated HO guy from over by Fort Worth.

Thank you for the kind welcome.

The last generation of Manufacturer Railway engines worked the area of south St. Louis around the brewery. I was able to watch these units work and have modeled and collected MRS 251 through 258 in HO.

When in town, I operate weekly on an Illinois Terminal Railroad. This interchanges with both the TRRA and the Alton and Southern. The switching prototypes of the Metro St. Louis area is really a great support system for modeling and operations practices.

We are moving to a new home and a small switching layout will fit the needs for an "Operational Fix".

It keeps the grey matter working.
