Thank you very much.

I am in hospital now,
so I will give a better answer later when back home.
I feel already better.

So everybody forgive when the answer is short,
as it takes lots of energy to hold the iPhone.
Will report about that.

The only thing I want now is to give my son and wife a big hug.
I miss them very much. I hope to be released from hospital soon.
Thanks for your understanding.

Alain

No need to respond.

I am sure I speak for many modelers in this group,
that your contributions are outstanding.

I for one, am still shaking my head about the three wheel Shay trucks.

I don't have a lot of time to look around here,
but when I do, seeing excellent work from other modelers is a blast,
and I love to see clever problem solving, as much as a finished model.

Your work has both.

Get well sir.

Here a little update on this project.

I spent some time in the workshop and milled some stuff.
Here the cab, it consists of 4 walls that will be soldered together.

The roof is from a Shay cab and I don't know if I should use it or not,
but for the moment it stays.

Here a little mockup to see how it will look like when all these parts are installed.

Parts are from different brands out of the parts box.
The bunker is from a 3-truck Shay.

Here at least one thing that is finished except paint and some coal.

As I could not find an image of the bunker side of this loco,
I built it like the other locos I have.  Sand boxes and ladder.

The bunker in the original pictures looks like sitting flush with the frame,
but that would mean the sandboxes hanging free and where would I put the ladder,
so I did it this way.

I could have put the sandboxes in the truck frames like on the Leopoldina Baldwin,
but then there would be no space left for the brakes,
as I will use the ones from the Bachmann Shays.

Next in line is the cab, then the boiler.
The boiler is going to be fun, with all its pipes and grab irons and....

Si.

Yes it is a nice little motor,
I will use more of these for future projects.

Are you referring with "New shay" to this project?
If so, maybe this helps to clarify what it will become.
